PowerPoint Practice Assignment (Make all changes in this presentation. Do not open a new one.) Save this Tutorial (FILE – SAVE AS) to your computer as Practice. Create a new slide. To do that, complete the following: –Go to HOME – SLIDES – NEW SLIDE – Choose the LAYOUT called Title and Content On the new slide, type your Name at the top in the Title area. In the content area, type your period and insert the date and time (INSERT – TEXT – DATE & TIME). Move this new slide to the top position in the presentation (so it is slide1). Go to Slide 3. (You can get there by going to: VIEW – Presentations Views –SLIDE SORTER - then click on the 3 rd slide.)

Title Change the title of THIS slide to “My PowerPoint.” Change the DESIGN of this entire show to any theme you would like (DESIGN – THEMES). You may also change the colors. Change the design of just this Slide (#3) to a different design from the rest choice. (Right-click on the new design theme and then click “apply to selected slides.”)

Fonts Change the font for the title of this slide to Tahoma with the font size of 50. (HOME – FONT) Add the “shadow” effect to the title. You can do this by going to HOME– FONT. Change the title font color to PURPLE. Bold the Title. ShadowColor

WordArt Add WordArt to the bottom of this slide below the directions. Have the text be the name of your favorite car. (INSERT – TEXT – WORDART). Change the color of the text to your favorite color. (Right-click on the WordArt and select FORMAT – TEXT EFFECTS – TEXT FILL). You can edit the shadow by RIGHT CLICKing then selecting FORMAT TEXT EFFECTS – SHADOW.

Slide Transitions Set the slide show to transition using the “Uncover” setting (TRANSITIONS – TRANSITIONS to This SLIDE) Have the slides advance on mouse click. Be sure to Apply to All Slides (found in the timing panel). Changing the Order of Slides. Move slide 4 so it is between slides 2 and 3. (Go to VIEW – SLIDE SORTER. Then click and drag slide 4.) (To return to Normal View – go to VIEW – NORMAL VIEW)

Changing Slide Layouts Change the layout of this slide to “Content with Caption”. (HOME – SLIDES – LAYOUT – CONTENT WITH CAPTION) For the clip, on the left side, add a clipart image of a car (INSERT – CLIPART – Search “CAR.”) Animate the car so that it enters the page from the right. (Select the car – ANIMATIONS - ANIMATION – FLY IN – Select FROM RIGHT in the EFFECT OPTIONS option)

Backgrounds Change the color of all of the text on this page to yellow (HOME – FONT). Change the color of the background of this page to “Green.” (RIGHT CLICK – FORMAT BACKGROUND – FILL– SOLID FILL). Be sure you click the mouse in an area that is on the slide, but not in a content area. If you click in the title or content area, you will not be able to get the right menu when you right click.

Creating Handouts Create a “handout” of this slide show that prints nine slide pages per sheet. (FILE – PRINT). In the “settings” area, select “9 Slides Horizontal” instead of Full Page Slides. PRINT by selecting the Big Print Button. View your show by pressing the F5 button or by going to SLIDE SHOW – FROM BEGINNING or FROM CURRENT SLIDE. Turn in the printout. Attach this PowerPoint to an to Mr. Mitchell.
