UEF Presidency GCM Herning/ students participation in GCM UEF wants to promote the internal students activities in our own organisation Financial support for students participation in GCM (½ participation fee for one student from each member-organisation) First results: 6 students take part in GCM (from Austria, Poland, Finland, Denmark) in future better results by better information?

UEF Presidency GCM Herning/ Cooperation project „International Forestry Workcamp“ 2005 decision taken in Freising to create a permanent exchange facility 2006 UEF became a partner of the yearly held Workcamp in Germany 2007 first workcamp supported by UEF in the frame of the cooperation agreement

UEF Presidency GCM Herning/ XI. International Forestry Workcamp held in July 2007 (4 weeks) Participants from 7 countries (Belgium, Poland, Hungaria, Greece, Spain, Portugal and South Korea) Only one participant from a UEF member organisation (supported by UEF by a travel expense subsidy of 150 €) in future better information!?

UEF Presidency GCM Herning/ Contact to IFSA Existing contacts to IFSA for years in the past no concrete cooperation IFSA Congress (Europe) 10.–12. May 2007 in Nancy (Themes: Forestal education in Europe and Forest Action Plan) UEFparticipation (1 day) and financial support from UEF (500 €) Main results: the change of forestal education is in process all over Europe! IFSA is open not only for academics!

UEF Presidency GCM Herning/ PAWS project EU-funded project, stimulating forester´s participation in nature interpretation UEF was represented in the advisory group end of the project: conclusion meeting of March in Gmunden All results can be downloaded in Internet and used for free (concept and tour planning tool for guides in different languages) ->

UEF Presidency GCM Herning/ European Network of Waldpädagogik The project is dealing with nature interpretation, too. UEF decided to support the project, but the project is devoloping further on expert level. concrete support seems to be a problem.

UEF Presidency GCM Herning/ EFORWOOD project The aim of the project is to provide methodologies and tools that will, for the first time, integrate Sustainability Impact Assessment of the whole European Forestry-Wood Chain (FWC), by quantifying performance of FWC, using indicators for all three pillars of sustainability; environmental, economic and societal. four-year integrated project, funded under the EU “Global change and ecosystems“ research activity of the Sixth Framework Programme 13th of September 2006: UEF participation in the first stakeholder meeting in Kerkrade (Netherlands) Meanwhile the project is devoloping increasingly on expert level.
