General Knowledge of Croatia KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING   Where is Croatia Located on the World map? Croatia is located opposite Italy and its neighbouring countries are Bosnia, Hungary and Slovenia. Also Croatia is surrounded by the Adriatic Sea, which is where all the Croatian fishmongers get their fishes and seafood. What is the Size of Croatia? It has an area of 56,538 square kilometers approximately the size of West Virginia. The country's coastline stretches for 5,790 kilometers, and consists of 1,778 kilometers of mainland coastline and 4,012 kilometers of island coastline. Croatia used to consist of Bosnia and Hergozivia being joined with Croatia but then they separated to become their own countries.

What is the population of Croatia? The current population of Croatia in 2010 is 4,434,000 people, however it wasn’t as high as it was in 1990 with its largest ever population of 4,508,347 people. Every year since then the population has slowly decreased however it still is a popular site to attract tourists. What are Geogrpahical/Natural Features in Croatia:   The area of Croatia can be divided into three major natural and geographic parts: The Pannonian and Peri-Pannonian area comprises the lowland and hilly parts of eastern and northwestern Croatia. Most of this area is being used for farming and livestock breading. Slavonija and Baranja in the east are the most suiotable for growing cereals; the humid valleys and the hills are richly afforested while the northwestern part, which gravitates to Zagreb, is industrially the most developed. The hilly and mountainous area, which separates Pannonian Croatia from its coastal part, is less developed. Its future development will be based on its transit importance, the growth of the already existing wood and timber industry, and the still underexploited potential for the production of healthy food, and winter and rural tourism.

What food is grown in Croatia? The major crops grown in Croatia are corn, potatoes, soy beans, sugar beets and wheat. Fruit grown include apples, cherries, grapes, olives, pears and plums   What food is exported from Croatia? Croatia is a major producer of organic foods and most of these get exported too Europe. Croatian wines, olive oils and lavender are in high demand What is the religion and culture of Croatia The main religion in Croatia is Roman Cathocolism. There religion is similair to Catholic faith and therefore doesn’t affect there eating ways and they ca neat whatever they want.
