Bromothymol Blue Demo Explanatory Paragraph iPads

Breathing rate increases with in increase of physical activity. Bromothymol blue is in indicator for carbon dioxide which means that it will change color if carbon dioxide is present. Bromothymol blue solution changes color from blue to green or from blue to yellow when carbon dioxide is bubbled into it. Can you predict whether there will be a difference in the time it takes for the solution to change color before and after exercise?

Respond to the following while you are waiting to receive your iPad. The delivery of oxygen to body cells and the removal of carbon dioxide from body cells depend on the functions of both the circulatory system and the respiratory system. Explain how functions in both of these systems are affected when gas exchange in the lungs is reduced. Give specific details in describing changes that may occur.

Use the ipad (3-D4 Medical Images app) to add at least one more annotation to each system in your Human Body Systems Flip Book
