Passionate Pirate Worksheet Assignment 2

Content Passion I love to teach about anything dairy! Dairy food, dairy processing, dairy cattle judging, the whole works. I think this passion stems from doing dairy cattle judging in FFA. I fell in love with it then and have had a passion for dairy cattle since then. Overall, I really enjoy teaching subjects in animal science, this stems from my love of animals since I was little. Within your subject matter, what are you passionate about teaching? In other words, of all the topics and standards you teach as part of your curriculum, which are the ones you most enjoy?

Professional Passion What really drives me is overall student development. I really enjoy seeing a student become inspired by something I teach, or having more confidence or self esteem because of a speech they did or contest they were a part of. Seeing those students develop into someone they never thought was possible is what really ignites my fire. Within your profession, but not specific to your subject matter, what are you passionate about? What is it about being an educator that drives you? What ignites a fire inside of you?

Personal Passion Over my last three years of college I have started to really develop a passion for educating the public about agriculture. I grew up in a pretty big city and I did not know anything about agriculture until I got into an animal science class my senior year. I found such a huge passion for agriculture then and I want to be able to spread that to my community who majority of them know nothing about agriculture. I also have a passion for the outdoors; I love to hunt and fish whenever it is possible. I grew up doing this and it has really became a strong passion over the years. Also, my family is another personal passion I have. I love to spend time with them whenever possible. One last personal passion I have is reading. I have always loved to read and just get lost in a book. Or learning something new from a book. I am reading a personal book now as well as a professional book (Teach Like a Pirate) and I love them both! Completely outside of your profession, what are you passionate about?
