Unwrapping the Glory of Christmas Advent Begins

Unwrapping the Glory of Christmas begins when we raise our understanding of God’s Glory.

The glory that comes from God is a person.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Loving the glory that comes from God connects us with the person of glory – Jesus.

God was most glorified when the Lord of Glory was crushed on the cross of shame.

John 12:23-28 "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified... It was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”

The glory that comes from God demands a pursuit.

41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus' glory and spoke about him. 42 …(some) would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved praise from men more than praise from God.

Begins with perceiving the true value Continues with prizing that value Therefore The Pursuit...

The pursuit of the Glory of God leads to Godly ambition in our lives. The Goal 2 Thessalonians 2:14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Unwrapping the Glory of Christmas begins when we raise our understanding of God’s Glory.

Pursuit this Week P URSUIT IN THE W ORD In preparation for next week’s message read Hebrews chapter one and note how the writer expands the brightness of Christ’s Glory.

Pursuit this Week P URSUIT IN S ERVICE Where could you serve this season where your vision of God’s glory might be raised? What could you do that could be done simply because of His glory?
