The Independent State of PRS Ruler: Emperor Jacob He will be praised beyond all others! Will it ever go this far?! Welcome to Jacobland….

The Rules…. You must all bring in your passports by next Friday as Emperor Jacob (supreme being!) has forbidden any travel outside of the Risborough area. If you wish to travel to any other area a permit will need to be applied for. Letters should be sent to Mrs Dunford to apply for a permit but permission will only be granted for emergency journeys. Any one found outside the grounds of the PRS without a permit will be imprisoned or shot!

Residents Anyone who is in Residence in Risborough will need to vacate their premises by Friday 30 th and Citizens will be allowed to stay in a temporary camp in the Sports hall but may only bring a small bag each. Parents and other relatives must leave the area altogether as space will not be allocated to them in the Camp.

Religion We now have a new God, everyone must attend the Temple of Jacob for at least one hour a day. All other gods are forbidden! Citizens caught worshipping in any other way will face imprisonment or the death penalty.

Education Only Citizens in years 7,8 and 9 are entitled to a limited education (History according to Jacob) Years 10 to 13 will be expected to work in around the Risborough area and will not receive an education any more.

Work All citizens from Year 10 upwards will be expected to work for Emperor Jacob (amazing dress sense) Any food, drink or personal items should be purchased from Master Maslin approved stores in PRS grounds Failure to pay will result in a prison sentence where you will work without wages.

Social Time If you want to socialise with each other you are allowed to meet for one hour at 10.pm after attending the Jacob temple for worship. Teachers will be present at all times and there will be a list supplied of topics to be discussed and those which are not allowed. Relationships between males and females are prohibited unless they are arranged by Mrs Harding (aka Cupid).

The Rules and Rights of Citizens Emperor Jacob (all hail him!) will decide what is best for you. You will obey all the rules and regulations or you will face imprisonment or execution!

Will this ever happen? Not here but it’s already happened in the past and present and people fought to stop it happening here..

Education Hitler Youth - One aim was to instill the motivation that would enable HY members, as soldiers, to fight faithfully for the Third Reich

Work The Nazi’s used slave labour to keep their war machine going (VW factory – making parts for planes – still want a golf?)

Camps Camps were set up for all those that did not fit the Nazi ideology (gypsies, homosexuals, learning difficulties) – or for those that had the courage to speak out against them.

Religion The Jews in Europe were killed just because of their religion

And today?

The GLP is funded by The Department for International Development GLOBAL LEARNING T Task – -Please go through the slides and follow the instructions -You will need take a class vote. Tutor time session 4: Democracy Importance of you voting!

Democracy in the UK.. The majority of people over the age of 18 (16 in Scotland) have a right to vote for the people that govern us. That will be YOU in a few years time! In May we have a general election. Your vote gives you a chance to have a say who will run the country. It is not a perfect system, but you have an idea of the alternatives!

You are going to vote for next weeks GLP tutor time activity. Either… Distribution of food in the world Gender inequality

Your vote counts! Take a class vote on which topic you wish to do next week. Then click on the link to make you vote. You Vote counts! Click on the following link to vote for your chosen topic…. Global Topic Vote

One last thing…. Stretch and challenge…. If you don’t vote in a general election, do you have the moral right to moan about how the country is run?
