Got Blog?

What is a blog? Blog is short for “Weblog.” Personal or noncommercial website that uses a dated log format. Contains links to other websites and comments about them.links Updated frequently. Groups links by subjects.

How? 1993: Started with the very first blog with “Mosaic’s What’s New Page.” 1997: Grew into a site with more thoughts with “Robot Wisdom Weblog.” 1998: Only handful existed, but the numbers started growing. 1999: Blogger was released & Live Journal started. 2002: Blogger has over 750,000 users.

The possibilities… Publish your thoughts Get feedback Find people posting Blog posting Post photos AudioBlogger Privacy (Not all sites) Customize Profile

What you can do wrong… Give out personal information: -Daily activities -Address -Family information -Phone numbers -Dates Posting pictures. -Suggestive pictures.

How to be careful… Don’t write specific information. (Names of places, people, times, dates, etc.) Don’t post pictures. Make it so someone can’t tell who you are. Don’t put your real info on the profile. (Phone number, full name, “I’m an American on a military base in Germany.”, etc.) If you can, make it Friends Only and specify who is allowed to read it.
