Competent Communicator -Someone who incorporates knowledge, attitude, and skills into his or her communication to communicate effectively and appropriately.

KNOWLEDGE -recognize the need to be informed -important to have complete, accurate, and recent info -ability to use info effectively -valid info and using “good common sense” Example: a knowledgeable voter tries to find out about candidates and issues before voting

ATTITUDES -influence the way you see yourself and other people Negative attitude in class May not listen as well May not participate effectively “One bad apple spoils the bunch…” Positive attitude in class Look forward to it Put forth extra effort to do well POSITIVE ATTITUDES = POSITIVE INTERACTIONS!!
