Cells A cell is the location where a column and a row meet in a spreadsheet or database. A cell is identified by its column letter and a row number. Example: A1, B2, C3 The cell address is the location of a cell in a spreadsheet or database. It is identified by the cell’s column/field letter and row/record number A1 B1 C1 A2 B2 C2 A3 B3 C3 A4 B4

Column A column consists of cells that run vertically across a spreadsheet or database and contain one type of information. Columns are identified by letters. A B C D E F

Spreadsheet A spreadsheet is a table that organizes data in cells. In spreadsheets, formulas can be used to calculate numerical data. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program.
