How to Make the Perfect PB&J By: Jade Edwards

Materials Needed: ➾ 2 slices of white bread ➾ 1 jar of peanut butter ➾ 1 jar of grape jelly ➾ 1 paper plate ➾ Butter Knife ➾ Spoon

Step 1: ➾ Wash hands for 60 seconds using soap and water. Dry completely using a dishtowel.

Step 2:  Gather supplies. Jelly out of the fridge. The PB, bread, and paper plates will come from the cabinet. The knife and spoon will come from the drawer. Lay out all the supplies on the kitchen counter.

Step 3: ➾ Open the PB. Grip the grips on the lid with your fingertips, while using your other hand to hold the jar around the middle and steady it, turn to the left, when loose enough remove the lid and set it beside the jar.

Step 4: ➾ Grab the knife on the other end of the blade; it will be the smaller end that is not sharp. Grip your hand around the handle with the blade pointing away from you. While keeping one hand on the jar around the middle, put the blade of the knife in the PB and scoop out about half a blade full of PB.

Step 5: ➾ Open the bread wrapper by untwisting the twist tie on the opening. Grab one slice of bread and hold it in the palm of your hand. Take the knife and spread the PB across the slice of bread until fully covered. When fully covered, lay the slice of bread down PB facing up on the plate.

Step 6: ➾ Grab the slice of bread without peanut butter and hold in the palm of your hand. Again, keeping one hand on the jar, grab the knife opposite to the blade and dip the blade in the PB. Scooping out about half a blade, put the jar down on the counter, spread that on the piece of bread in your hand until fully covered. When fully covered put the piece of bread down on the plate, PB facing up.

Step 7: ➾ Put the knife down on the kitchen counter with the blade facing away from you. Now take the lid to the PB putting it on top of the PB jar, push down, squeeze, and twist the lid to the right until tight.

Step 8: ➾ Now open the jar of jelly by griping the lid on the grips with your fingertips, keep your other hand gripped around the middle of the jar to steady it, twisting to the left. When loose enough remove the lid and place on the counter.

Step 9: ➾ Grab the spoon by the handle, opposite to the scoop. Keeping one hand on the jelly jar. Scoop out a spoon full of jelly (filling up the whole scoop part).

Step 10: ➾ Pick up a piece of PB covered bread, PB facing up. Dump the jelly over the PB covered bread and then spread it over the PB using the back of the spoon. When fully covered, lay the bread back down PB&J side facing up on the plate.

Step 11: ➾ Set the spoon down on the counter. Take the lid to the jelly and place it on top of the jar. Push down, squeeze, and twist the lid to the right until it will not twist anymore.

Step 12: ➾ Take the slice of bread that only has PB on it and place it PB side down on top of the slice with the jelly. Match up the corners as best as possible.

Step 13: ➾ Grabbing the knife by the handle. Cut the sandwich caddy corner (go from one corner, through the middle of the bread, and to the corner across from the one you started at. You will have 2 triangles when completed).

Step 14: ➾ Grab both the spoon and knife by the handle and place them in the sink to be cleaned.

Step 15: ➾ Now put the peanut butter back in the cabinet where you found it and the jelly back in the fridge where you found it.

Step 16: ➾ Now you can enjoy your perfect PB&J :)
