 View high school pathways for math  Familiarize yourself with transcript policies  Engage in math tasks & solve them using various methods  Explore teacher websites  Learn strategies to support your child with homework  View PARCC sample problems

 If your child is taking Algebra 1 or Geometry in middle school: ◦ The grade for these courses will appear on his/her high school transcript ◦ The grade for these courses will not calculate into his/her high school GPA ◦ These courses will not count towards the four required credits of math for high school graduation

 Math Tasks provide opportunities for students to work in a collaborative environment and apply a variety of skills and strategies to investigate a real-world problem.  We have provided eight different math tasks for you to engage in tonight.

 PARCC sample problems for Math 6, 7, 8 and Algebra 1 will be available to review on the other side of the media center.  All 6 th grade students take 6 th grade PARCC  All 7 th grade students NOT taking Algebra take 7 th grade PARCC  All 8 th grade students NOT taking Algebra take 8 th grade PARCC  All Algebra students take Algebra PARCC

 Visit the computer lab to explore teacher websites and the Math Support Center website.  Go to Mrs. Merza’s room for information on how to provide homework support for your child.  Stay in the media center to engage in math tasks and view PARCC sample problems Thank you for coming!
