THIS IS A MEXICAN WOLF! THEY LIVE IN PRAIRIES AND FORESTS. THEY EAT RABBITS, SQUIRRELS AND OTHER SMALL ANIMALS. THEY LOOK LIKE COYOTES AND WOLVES PUT TOGETHER!

THIS IS A BLACK WOLF. IT LIVES IN THE TUNDRA. IT IS EXACTLY LIKE A GRAY WOLF BUT IS BLACK. THIS KIND OF WOLF HAS MORE OF A YELLOW COLOR OF EYES. THE GRAY WOLF HAS MOSTLY BROWN AND BLACK EYES.

A RED WOLF IS LITERALLY A RED WOLF. IT LOOKS LIKE A MEXICAN WOLF. IT IS SIMILAR TO A MEXICAN WOLF BUT LIVES IN THE UNITED STATES.

THIS IS A GRAY WOLF! THIS KIND OF WOLF LIVES IN THE TUNDRA! HE LIVES IN A PACK WITH OTHER WOLVES AND HUNTS LARGE PREY SUCH AS, MOOSE, CARIBOU, AND A LOT OF OTHER ANIMALS! EVEN SMALL ONES! WOLVES ARE CARNIVORES. THIS MEANS THAT THEY EAT MEAT!

IN FALL WOLVES STORE UP FOODS IN THEIR WHAT IS CALLED A BELLY-BASKET! IT CARRIES FOOD IN WINTER! THE BELLY- BASKET HOLDS THE EXTRA FOOD FROM FALL AND STORES IT IN WINTER! WHEN THEY NEED TO FEED THEIR YOUNG, THEY REGURGITATE IT AND THE YOUNG EATS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS NO FOOD TO EAT.

A WOLF PACK CAN EAT A CARIBOU IN 2-3 MEALS!

WOLVES MOSTLY EAT CARIBOU, SNOW HARE, MOOSE, AND MOSTLY ANY MEAT THEY CAN GET THEIR PAWS ON.

WOLVES HUNT MOSTLY DURING THE DAY. THEY HUNT CARIBOU, SNOW HARES, MUSK OXEN AND ANY MEAT THEY CAN FIND TO EAT. WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS. THEY DON’T HUNT ALONE BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT IF THEY HUNT ALONE THEY COULD GET HURT OR EVEN DIE.

MOST WOLVES TRAVEL IN PACKS. WHEN IT IS SPRING FEMALE WOLVES MATE AND HAVE YOUNG. THE BABIES USUALLY DON’T HUNT OR GO OUT OF THE DEN UNTIL A MONTH AFTER BIRTH.

DOGS, COYOTES, AND DOGS ARE ANCESTORS OF THE WOLF.

AN ADULT WOLF CAN WEIGH AS MUCH AS POUNDS. THEY CAN STRETCH AS LONG AS 6 FEET FROM THE TIP OF ITS NOSE TO THE END OF ITS TAIL.

THIS IS A DIRE WOLF. A DIRE WOLF IS A PREHISTORIC WOLF THAT LIVED MORE THAN A MILLION YEARS AGO.

THIS IS A SKELETON OF A DIRE WOLF. NOTICE THE JAW. IT HAS WHAT LOOKS LIKE VAMPIRE TEETH.

PEOPLE THINK OF WOLVES AS MEAN ANIMALS, BUT THEY REALLY AREN’T. THEY ARE VERY SOLITARY ANIMALS. THEY CARE FOR THEIR PACK AND THE WILDERNESS THEY LIVE IN.

WOLVES’ ENEMIES ARE HUMANS, OTHER WOLF PACKS, AND ANY PREDATOR THAT EATS THEM.

WOLVES ARE THE KING OF THE TUNDRA. THEY LIVE WITH THEIR PACK AND IN THEIR OWN TERRITORY.

WOLVES DEFEND THEIR TERRITORY BY HOWLING TO OTHER PACKS, WARNING THEM TO STAY AWAY FROM THEIR TERRITORY OR PACK MEMBERS. WOLVES ALSO WARN OTHER PACKS TO STAY AWAY FROM THEIR TERRITORY BY LEAVING SCENT MARKS OF URINE TO MARK THE BORDERS OF THEIR LAND

WOLVES LIVE IN THE TUNDRA, EURASIA, NORTH AMERICA, AND IN ALASKA. THEY ALS0 LIVE IN FORESTS, THE TUNDRA, AND IN MEXICO.

THE WOLF IS RELATED TO THE RED FOX, THE COYOTE, THE JACKEL, THE DOMESTIC DOG, THE GRAY FOX, AND THE DINGO.
