8A Unit4 Pronunciation

Wolves like eating snails very much. And wolves have good smell. Revision

There are many beautiful insects in the pictures

Hunters hunt tigers for their bones to make medicine.

Saying conditional sentences.

When we read a condition sentence aloud, our voice rises at the end of the first clause and falls at the end of the sentence. Do you know the rule?

Exercise Are you ready? Let's go!

Listen to Simon’s report on wolves. 1. Many wild animals will die if we don’t help them. 2. Wolves won’t survive if we don’t give them good areas of forest to live in.

3. They will live in family groups and hunt together if they live in the wild. 4. If we continue to destroy forests to build roads, they won’t have suitable homes. 5. If farmers continue to make new farmland from forests, wild animals won’t get enough food.

Listen to Millie’s report on elephants. Put a rising arrow ( ) above the words where her voice rises. Put a falling arrow ( ) above the words where her voice falls. Part B

1. If hunters see an elephant in the wild, they will kill it. 2. Hunters will make a lot of money if they see elephants’ tusks. 3. Elephants help farmers if people train them.

4. There won’t be any elephants if we don’t protect them. 5.If we don’t help these wild animals, they will all die soon.

Please read Part B to your partner to check your pronunciation. Exercise

Now, please write your own presentation about your favourite animals, expressing your own ideas. Group work
