 Britain is an island in the Atlantic Ocean  The official name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland  There are 4 countries in the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

 England is a country that is part of the United Kingdom.  It is the largest part of the UK.

 The capital of Ireland is Dublin.

 The capital and largest city is Cardiff.  Many people in Wales, especially in the north, speak Welsh as their first language and all children must learn Welsh at school.

 United 1603,Scotland and England were separate countries with own monarchs and paliaments.  In that year, however, the English queen, Elizabeth I,died.

 It‘s in the middle of Trafalgar Square. People come here to celebrate New Year.

 Buckingham Palace is the official London home.  In addition, the London residence of Queen Elizabeth II.

 Westminster Bridge is a bridge for pedestrians and road traffic across the river Thames.

 Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock.  The tower is now officially called the Elizabeth Tower.
