Lesson # 3: Foundational Principles PARADIGMS The 7 HABITS of Highly Effective TEENS By Sean Covey

What do you see? A MOUSE?AN OLD MAN? There is often more than one way to look at something…

PARADIGMS (pair-a-dimes) “A paradigm is the way you see something, your point of view, frame of reference, or belief.” Sean Covey In your copy of The 7 Habits, read the quotes on pgs. 11 & 12. Think about how different paradigms affect the way we view things.

QUESTION If you just bought a new computer with many different parts and wires and had to hook it up… what would you need to get it running properly? What if your computer came with the instructions for a different model but you didn’t know it? Would it make a difference if you worked harder? What if you changed your attitude and tried to think positively?

A PARADIGM SHIFT Sometimes the way we look at a situation is like looking at a wrong set of instructions. Often we need to consider changing the way we look at something… …consider a different perspective… …reconsider our point of view. We need to SHIFT our PARADIGMS.
