You can find decimals at the gas station when you are pumping gas. The decimals are used for the price and how many gallons of gas you are pumping into your car. Last week I bought 9.3 gallons of gas and it rounded to 9.0 gallons. This week I bought 9.7 gallons of gas and that rounded to 10.0 gallons of gas so I got more gas this week than last week. Gas station

You can find decimals at the bottom of a lake on a boat that tracks the depth. If you dive into the ocean with an air tank you need to know how deep or the depth of where you're going. Two people dove into the ocean. One dove 7.6 feet deep so that rounds to 8.0 feet deep and the other dove 7.8 feet deep so that rounds to 8.0 feet so the second person dove deeper than the first. Depth

You can find miles in a car when you are driving. You use decimals to track how far you have drove. Sarah drove 7.8 miles to Food Lion yesterday so she drove about 8.0 miles. Today she drove 8.8 miles to the salon so she drove about 9.0 miles. Sarah drove one more mile today than she did yesterday. miles

You can find decimals on a scale when you are weighing yourself. Decimals are used on a scale to separate pounds from ounces. Last month Joe weighed pounds so he was about pounds. This month Joe weighed pounds so he weighed about pounds so Joe gained about 2 more pounds from last month to this month. Weight on a scale
