Sun Facts Supports life on Earth Helps your body produce Vitamin D Too much exposure may cause sunburn. The sun gives us vitamin D so we can absorb calcium into our body for strong bones. Staying in the sun too long may cause your skin to turn red and burn. This is called a sunburn. Sunburns increase your chance of getting wrinkly when you get older. They may also lead to skin cancer when you are an adult. Gives off dangerous ultraviolet rays 1
