 Started Oct. 1, 2012 – 2 Years  Funding Continues (at about $40 Billion annually)  Fewer Categories/More Flexible to States  Establishes a Performance-Based Program  Accelerates project delivery and promotes innovation  Freight Policy/Highway Freight Network  Supports Aggressive Safety Programs

 $500 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Discretionary Grant Program FY 2012  2012 – 47 Projects in 34 States 

 Investing in improved equipment and track through State DOTs  Testing higher speeds (111 MPH in Ill./160MPH ACELA)  154 different projects are addressing all aspects of rail development from laying and upgrading track to eliminating bottlenecks, developing stations, and planning for future construction.

 The EDC initiative supports the implementation of planning, permitting, design, and construction innovations that have a demonstrated ability to build highway and bridge projects faster.  Better, Faster, and Smarter Project Delivery  Prefabricated Bridge Elements and Systems  innovative construction management techniques  Streamlined Planning/Environmental Process Regional Summits – EDC II

 U.S. DOT Supporting the State of Michigan  Working with Other Federal Agencies to Address Issues  NITC Proposed as a Federal-Aid Project in the U.S.
