 King of England and king of Ireland in 1760  Became King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in  Long reign  Suffered from porphyria

 The Americans weren’t happy with their status.  Armed conflict broke out in  The colonies declared their independence in July The American Revolutionary War

 George III wanted to always be at war with the revolutionaries.  The British put up a huge fight but kept failing.  George was eventually forced to accept defeat The American Revolutionary War

 In late 1810 became dangerously ill.  Prince of Wales acted as Regent for the remainder of George III’s life.  Later on suffered from dementia, became completely blind and increasingly deaf.  Died in Engraving by Henry Meyer of George III in later life
