What is CBE Competency-Based Education Accelerated IT Training Program of Broward College TAACCCT Grant Program

Features of CBE Competency-Based Learning: Independent study for self-directed learners. Accelerated Pace: Use prior learning and work experience to demonstrate competency for what you already know through a series of assessments. Supported: Students receive a personal Academic Coach dedicated to student success through weekly communication.

Changes made to course shell Multiple-unit courses are now all converted to one unit courses Unit 1 Challenge renamed to Course Challenge Course challenges are mandatory and used for attendance verification Under each section, there are section evaluations No more section level challenge exam There is only one proctored exam, Course Evaluation Removed discussion requirements 4 week pace chart

Dealing with Assessment If there are multiple parts of exam, each part will be graded individually, then the instructor will have to put the calculated total in the grade book. COP 1334 If the assessment is outside D2L, instructor has to put the grade manually back to D2L grade book CTS 2383, CGS 1557

Dealing with Assessment CGS 1510 and CGS 1540 uses assignment as Course Evaluation Since we cannot password-lock an assignment to make sure it is done in a proctored environment, we zip companion files and password-lock the zip file. The password can be found under Proctor Instructions file under file management

Dealing with Assessment 7 classes are using Testout.com as assessment CGS1060c, CTS 1133c, CTS 2131c, CET 2742c, CTS2383c,CTS 2120c, and CTS 1106c, Testout support Scott Cuthbert
