Presentation Outline What is a Role Model and what are the qualities and characteristics of role model? Why are role models important? My Role Model, Hayat Sindi in lines What did she study and where? Where does she work and her achievements? What Hayat Sindi contributed to Society? And her volunteer Works? How has Role Model inspired the U.A.E and the World.

What is a Role Model? Role models is a person who affected on people in a way that make them to be a better people. What are the qualities and characteristics of the Role Model?  Confident and commitment  Self-Esteem and respect people, when you Respect people you earn respect from them. This characteristic can make a major positive difference in our life .  Humility is one of the most important characteristics that should be in a role model person, because it shows the ability to be humble despite great achievements that you got in your life.  Role model should know how to handle the stresses and pressures in a positive way, and overcome Difficulties .

Why are role models important ? Role models are very important, because they increase a self esteem, help people to build morals and positive values, also they teach them to set goals and achieving it

‘‘ My Role Model ‘ Hayat Sindi ‘ She is Dr. Hayat bint Sulaiman Sindi, from Saudi Arabian Hayat Sidni was born in Mecca in 6 November She is a medical scientist and one of the first female members of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia Sindi is the first woman from any of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf who completed a doctoral degree in her field

What did she study and where ? After completing her high school, she studied several years in Jeddah, but she didn’t find the major that she was looking for. When she was 24 years old in 1991, she convinced her family to allow her to travel alone to the United Kingdom in order to pursue her higher education in Medical. In U.K., She faced many problems before joining the college such as the English language which she had to spent around a year to improve her language. In 1995, she graduated with a degree in pharmacology from King's College London In 2001, She got a Ph.D. in biotechnology from Cambridge University

Where does she work and her achievements? Dr.Hayat was the first Muslim to work in Harvard scientific lab and she was the first female in the Gulf to obtain a PHD in biotechnology She was the winner of the Mekkah Al Mukaram prize for scientific innovation On October 1st, 2012, Sindi was appointed by UNESCO as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador She is famous for making major contributions to medical testing and biotechnology Sindi visits Harvard University as a researcher She was ranked as the ninth most influential Arab woman.

What has Hayat Ssindi contributed to Society ? And her volunteer Works? She has offered many medical researches such as how to measure toxic Gases. she invented an device to discover Cancer at it is early stages. She invented an device called MARS for DNA diseases She developed a non-profit establishment called “Diagnostic For All” aiming to help people around the world especially in poor countries

How has Role Model inspired the U.A.E and the World? In United Arab Emirates, the ministry of Health uses Sindi’s devices in various hospitals and clinics inside UAE, thus Her Highness Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi gave her an award in The medical field in Dubai In world Sindi Inventions and achievements reached to all around the world, where her researches help the world to develop more in the medical science and provide free diagnostic and treatments especially in the poor countries.
