“European Nuclear Science and Applications Research 2” (ENSAR2) Muhsin N. Harakeh Coordinator ENSAR2 on behalf of the ENSAR2 management group NuPECC Meeting 9-10 October 2015 Caen, France

Requested changes difficult to implement during vacation period. ENSAR2 On 30 June (last day) at 16:54 to be precise, we got the official news. ENSAR 2 is FUNDED. Requested changes difficult to implement during vacation period. My thanks to all who contributed and are still contributing to this success.

ENSAR ENSAR started on September 1, 2010 End of the ENSAR project December 31, 2014 (after prolongation by 4 months) Last PCC and GA meetings in Vienna 12-13 February 2015 By end of February: Third periodic and final (Scientific & Financial) reports were submitted… Last financial payment was made around mid August.

A quick historical overview ENSAR2 A quick historical overview Pre-proposal for ENSAR2 as response to the EC consultation by October 2012 In February 2013, ENSAR2 came on the short list of the EC to be targeted for a call. We asked the community to help in the preparation of the ENSAR2 proposal (in particular suggestions for NAs and JRAs).

Preparation of FP8 ENSAR2 ENSAR Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) Creation of the Scientific Steering Committee with representatives of ENSAR2 TNA facilities and experts of their scientific fields: beginning of March 2013 ENSAR Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) ENSAR Muhsin N. ENSAR2 - Total budget

ENSAR2 started on October 1, 2015! Our liaison officer had many requests for changes some trivial, some impractical and some useful but need a lot of work. Main impractical problem is request for a lower number of NAs and JRAs through fusing them down to two to three per category. Number of deliverables and timing. Declared person months. Integration of procedure for applying for TNA. Quarterly reports. TNA calculation costs Rewriting sections on gender issues, data and innovation (IPR) management, consortium description, etc. ENSAR2 started on October 1, 2015!

Thank you for your attention
