Types of Location Relative Location = directional terms Absolute Location = longitude and latitude

Cultural Traits A cultural trait is a unique assortment of behaviors and beliefs that distinguish a society.

Physical Geography Physical geography affects where economic activities will occur.

Modifications A type of modification that has made the environment, farming better and more energy efficient is a dam.

Cultural Activities Cultural activities can be defines by the following 3 characteristics Music Language Hygiene Culture also includes a persons language, religion, land uses and customs

Desert Modification In a desert climate, desalinization (taking the salt out of the water) plants are used to obtain fresh water

Vocabulary Formal Region- A central area connected to others by transportation, communication, or economic activity Functional Region- An area that shares common human or physical characteristics Perceptual Region- A subjective image created by people’s thoughts and feelings about an area

Command Economy A command economy has the highest form of government control.

Dictatorship Dictatorship is where one person has total control over a society.

Push Factors An example of a push factor is a natural disaster.

Communist System In a communist system the government controls everything and decides which products are going to be made and sold.

Judaism & Christianity Both of these religions are similar because they both believe that there is the existence of one god

Democracy Democracy is a form of government where the ultimate power is derived from the people in an election Examples include: United States, Great Britain and Mexico

Population Density Places that have the highest amount of people is where there is a flat, fertile plains, and river valleys.

Buddhism Buddhism beliefs include that learning to give up selfish desires will lead you to salvation.
