National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mt. Holly Purpose of Briefing Briefing # 2 To promote situational awareness for the emergency management community and for other partners. To provide guidance for planning efforts. The briefing applies to the WFO Mount Holly service area which is shaded in green on the map.

National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mt. Holly Executive Summary Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees below normal on Saturday, with morning lows ranging from near zero in the Poconos to the mid-teens in southern Delaware, and afternoon highs ranging from the mid-teens to the mid-twenties. A Wind Advisory is in effect region-wide Friday night thru Saturday morning for sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph possible. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect Friday night thru Saturday morning for wind chill readings as low as 15 to 20 degrees below zero. Low pressure is expected to move thru the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic region Sunday into Monday. Precipitation is expected to begin Sunday afternoon and end Monday afternoon. Snow is expected to mix with sleet southeast of I-95 and predominantly snow is expected northwest of I-95. Snow could also mix with sleet just northwest of I-95. At this time, there is the potential for 4 or more inches of snow from eastern PA into central and northern NJ, generally northwest of I-95, including the Poconos. Amounts will taper off further to the south, down to around an inch in southern Delaware.
