More Words to Know convinced (verb) To persuade someone to think or do something the way you want. coarse (adjective) Rough feeling

excitement (noun) a condition of having strong, lively feelings about something that you like Mark could not wait to go to the zoo on a field trip. He could hardly contain his excitement.

gardener (noun) someone employed to take care of a garden or lawn The gardener carefully pulled the weeds and watered his plants.

motioned (verb) made a movement, as of the hand or head, to get someone to do something

sadness (noun) unhappiness; sorrow His sadness about losing the game caused him to have a terrible day.

shivered (verb) shook with cold, fear, or excitement Tommy shivered while he waited for the school bus on a cold winter’s morning.
