Benefits of GBIFBenefits of GBIF  Making Biodiversity contacts throughout the world  Opportunities to participate in development workshops  Opportunities to make proposals for grants  Keeping up with the biodiversity informatics advances throughout the world

Ways we work together  Much of this is done through our members who are also participants in GBIF directly.  IABIN is developing thematic networks which are consistent with GBIF target areas, including pollinators, species and specimens.  We promote GBIF with our members and may be engaging through our thematic networks as they develop.  We work with the promotion of DIGIR protocols.

Digitization GrantsDigitization Grants  3 Awards of $134K o Argentina o Mexico o Costa Rica

Demonstration ProjectsDemonstration Projects  2003 Tour: Multi-author tree inventory plot dat from Western Amazon region  Peru  2004 Biodiversity Analysis Tool – moth specvies across Costa Rica  Conabio, Inbio, CRIA  2004 Species Loss meter  Mexico (CONABIO/UNAM), US (KS)  2005 Enabling a lobal GRID: Geospatial Data Sharing, Visualization and Analysis  Cloud forest of Mexico, Colombia, and Costa Rica
