I. What is the Water & Sewer Plan? Broad-based document that shows integration and inter-relationship of County, municipal, and privately- owned water and sewer systems that also: Identifies existing, planned, and programmed infrastructure Defines long-range water and sewer infrastructure goals, needs, and resources Recommends planning and policy actions related to future water and sewer resources 2011 WATER & SEWER PLAN: PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION PRESENTATION

I. Why do we need it? Responsibly prepare and plan for future growth and added demand on our existing infrastructure All planned projects must be listed in Water & Sewer Plan in order to receive grant and loan funding State law (Environment Article Title 9 – Subtitle 5) and regulation (COMAR 26.03) require the preparation and processing of Water and Sewer Plans by local and State government 2011 WATER & SEWER PLAN: PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION PRESENTATION
