Megatrends & Global Security Course (Brief information) Master’s Program “Global and Regional Security and Conflict Resolutions” for IR students Basic course (obligatory for students) 6 credits (72 contact hours) students in the group E -methods; additional materials in English, which are available in Internet ( (Global Security)

Reasons for developing new course To avoid the doubling topics To give the students the opportunity to find connection between global issues and security To develop critical thinking towards global and security issues To make an attempt to prognose the basic world trends for nearest years and its influence on global security and Russia’s national security

Structure of the Course New Agenda for XXI Century Security Globaliz ation & Trends 72 contact hours 18 hours – lectures; 54 hours – seminars.

Challenges Theoretical – what Globalization is, what connection is between Globalization and Modern trends? Methodological – how to construct the course, what topics are more ‘important’? Teaching methods – to develop different types of seminars with problem solving questions. Subjective - Student’s basic stereotypes, multicultural group and etc.
