Presentation transcript:

How can you meet this expectation? Leadership and Management Excellence is a new high level development programme designed to support and stretch you to act into the responsibilities of your role. Queen’s expects: “ambitious academic and managerial leadership in all areas to create the ethos of “one University” in a spirit of collaboration and collegiality” Corporate Plan What does Queen’s expect of you as a Manager/Leader? Be ambitious. Take ownership and responsibility to Lead, Inspire and Deliver. Leadership and Management Excellence

Inspire Personal Skills Interpersonal & Organisational Awareness Developing People Deliver Creative Thinking & Problem Solving Decision Making, Prioritising, Planning & Organising Using Resources Lead Strategic Focus Managing People & Performance Managing Change Queen’s Management & Leadership Framework What does this mean in practical terms? We have set out what defines a Queen’s leader in terms of the behaviours required to both lead and manage. These behaviours are set within a framework under the Queen’s key themes of Lead, Inspire, Deliver

How will the Leadership and Management Excellence programme help develop me? Programme is rooted in Queen’s key strategic intentions and challenges: Lead, Inspire, Deliver – modules addressing key management/leadership behaviours grouped under these themes. “One University” – collaboration and collegiality through mixed groups and peer learning sessions. Being more ambitious – programme requires you to deliver a real difference in your area through delivery of a challenging project. Focus on self awareness and performance – 360 degree feedback
