Level Standardized Tests CMT – Administered in grades 3-8 in reading, math, writing; science in grades 5 and 8. CAPT – Administered in grade 10 and tests students in areas of writing, reading, math, science. ACT – Taken in grades 11 & 12. Also used by college admissions offices and tests English, Math, Reading & Science. AP – Advanced Placement tests measure competency in college level courses. All East Lyme AP students are required to take the AP exam. Scores of 3 or better may result in college credit. 2
