November 2006 Site Council Funding Request Irvington HS Library Presented by Cathy Ash

Why $20k? Why not $40? Why not $60?

September 2006 IHS Library Collection = 10,440 Average Year 1990

# of Books Checked Out

BooksComputersDVD/VHSOrder/Ranking $20k Most Critical - in worst shape $40k Also Necessary $60k New Titles for Science/Math

Student checkouts continue to increase because we are meeting their needs: Newer books (but less of them!) More relevant and accurate IHS is below average (national/state) for # of books / student HIGHEST NEED: 300/500/600 sections (society, science, technology) Would love the other items, too, but prefer to be realistic!

The following pages come from statistics maintained either in-house (Irvington Library) or at the District Level. The District Level information is taken from a secured, password protected site available to librarians. The titles of the two documents are: Fremont Unified School District School Library Funding Status Report for (Library_Funding_2004_2005.pdf) Library_Funding_2005_2006.pdf
