The School History

“ Bon Pastor” school was born with the iniciative of ex-students of the school “L’infant Jesús”. In October 1940, the school started to work with the name of “Padre Nicolas Barre’s school”, but it was only for girls.

This is the priest “Father Bottle”

The first director was Maria Victoria Cartes, but when she got married, Ana Maria García occuped her place. In this first year there were lessons only in the evening. The subjects were Reading, Writing and Arithmetics, and they also taught sewing and embroiding.

The next year the place was extended and they could also teach in the mornings. They had 50 pupils. Later, the girls studied Geography too. In 1944, the education was completed with “Spanish History”. In 1959, the priest Joan Cortinas started to collect empty bottles to get money because he wanted to create a school for boys.

This priest was very popular in Bon Pastor, he was called “ Father Bottle”. On 4th October 1964 the first floor of the school was inaugurated. The girls school was finished in “Bon Pastor” school is a Parish School.
