Churchwarden workshops 2015

Opening Worship The God of Heaven has made his home on earth. Christ dwells among us and is one with us. Highest in all creation, he lives among the least. He journeys with the rejected and welcomes the weary.

Come now all who thirst And drink the water of life. Come now all who hunger And be filled with good things. Come now all who seek And be warmed by the fire of love.

Psalm 104 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God how excellent is your greatness. You are clothed with majesty and honour, wrapped in light as in a garment. The sun knows the time for its setting. You make darkness that it may be night. O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.

When you send forth your spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth. May the glory of the Lord endure for ever; may the Lord rejoice in his works. I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will make music to my God while I have my being. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now and shall be for ever. Amen.

Reading and Reflection Mark 4: 26-32

Prayer That in our diocese, deaneries, parishes and churches, we may live in the light of your Kingdom: We pray to you, O Lord. For your blessing on every church, benefice and community represented here today: We pray to you, O Lord.

For Rachel our Bishop and Martyn Bishop of Tewkesbury; for our clergy, readers, church wardens and PCCs; that your will may be done among us. We pray to you O Lord. For our homes, our work, the places where we spend our time and the people who share our lives, that we may together dwell in your love, receive your grace and share your goodness with all around us. We pray to you, O Lord.

That you will strengthen us in your service And fill our hearts with longing for your kingdom, In faith we pray: We pray to you, O Lord. Amen. We say the Lord’s prayer together …

The Lord bless us and preserve us from evil, and keep us in eternal life. Amen. Let us bless the Lord. Thanks be to God!
