Presentation transcript:

Why is it important to us? As a group we feel that people with a disability are discriminated in a work environment. Many employer's discriminate disabled people because of their appearance, not even looking at their CV: skills and attributes. As we discovered that in 2011, 15% of the world’s population were disabled, which means there was 1,050,000 disabled people. We conducted as survey, through friends and family; discovered that 7 out of 30 people would not a employee a disabled person. Whilst 6 out of 30 people, where undecided on employing an disabled person. The other (17 people) said that they were most certain they would employee a disabled person, the reason being was “they are not different to us, they only have a disability.

Failure to treat people fairly or equitably may be classed as discrimination. Anti-discrimination is about ensuring that everyone gets a fair go in life. The Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Old) promotes fair treatment and equality by making unfair discrimination unlawful. It is important because people will not be able to get job because of the gender or race because of discrimination which is not fair.
