King George III

Early life King George III was the son of Frederick Louis. From his parents and their entourage, the young George got an unreasonable dislike from his grandfather, King George II, and of all his policies. George was a child of strong feelings but slow with mental development. This unequal growth of brain and heart made him difficult to teach he could not read properly until he was 11. His affection for his immediate family circle dominated his life.

Married life George was shy and stubborn but interested in science and arts. He became King George III in 1760 after the death of his grandfather. In 1761, after an official search for a suitable wife, he married Sophia Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz who he first met on his wedding day. The couple enjoyed a happy marriage. They had 16 children including George (later George IV) and William (who became William IV) and they were married for 57 years.

Early Reign He succeeded the throne at the age of 22 and earnestly set himself to cleanse politics of corruption and to curb the arrogance of the aristocratic Whig leaders, who he thought had weakened the royal powers. George, for his part, was suspicious by those who resented Lord Bute's influence over the young king. This suspicion appeared justified when the successful and popular William Pitt, later earl of Chatham, was allowed to resign in 1761.

Thinking What I think about King George III is that he is an okay guy. I don't like the choices he's made like when he just choose to care about the colonies right after a war but Most of the problems with the colonies was with the colonist they made a big deal about paying taxes even when they had to pay just 1 dollar for tea.
