Reading Fair at Roosevelt Elementary

Read Across America Day March 2

Roosevelt 1 st, 2 nd, 5 th and 6 th graders will share their favorite book on a story display board Every 1st grader will participate It’s a contest

One student from each class will be awarded first prize based on judging.

What will the finished boards look like?

All 1 st grade boards must include … Title Author & Illustrator Main Characters Setting

Retell of the story (beginning, middle, end) Your Favorite Part/Funny Part

Design your board to include these things ? Title Author Illustrator

Main Characters Setting Retell (beginning, middle, end)

Your board will be judged on all the things you have been learning in first grade about being good writers. and Make your board look like your book

Boards will be made at home PEGS is providing the board for each student Information papers will go home to parents.

1 st place trophies will be given to each class winner. Many additional prizes will be raffled off to all students in the fair. Each class will make a class board first so that every student knows what to do.
