Ms. A. Martin, M. ED.

Be in the room when the bell begins to ring or if late obtain a tardy slip and sign on the tardy log and get a tardy assignment slip. Tardy Assignment Slip- You will receive an assignment of my choosing to complete and turn in the following class on time. Failure to not turn in the assignment will lead to a zero in the grade book. FYI: Turning in the assignment will not result in a grade boost. Sit in your assigned seat, get quiet, and read the board before asking any questions. Pay attention to any/all directions. Do not ask to borrow. Bring your own materials. Do not put your head down on your desk, sleep, snore, or give the appearance of sleeping.

Turn in assignments when directed to do so. Late work: 1 letter grade per day. No late work will be accepted after five school days except for unusual cases. It is the student’s responsibility to speak to the instructor as soon as possible about such exceptions Do not copy anyone else’s work or allow anyone to copy yours. RESULT: ZEROES for the copier and the one whose work is copied. Plagiarism (compositions, stories, essays, reports, etc.) is classified as academic dishonesty. See the Code of Conduct.

Hall passes will be limited. Those who abuse the privilege will not get passes. Honestly, I prefer you go to the restroom before class. Remain seated at the end of class even if the dismissal bell rings. “The bell does not dismiss you I do.”

Be respectful and cooperative. Do not tamper with classroom equipment—including student desks, file cabinets, computer, pencil sharpeners, teacher’s desk/chair, book cases, etc.—or with other students’ belongings. Do not touch the Smart Board unless directed to do so. If any problem arises with another student(s), let the me know so that the problem can be dealt with appropriately as soon as possible.

First and last name, current date, and block number and the type of assignment. NOTE: For the first two weeks, five points off for each missing item; after two weeks: ten points off. After four weeks, work without the required information will not be accepted or graded.

SPECIAL NOTES: Some assignments will not be accepted late. If this is the case, you will be notified in advance. When you have a composition or project that must be typed, check to be sure your printer works and has ink! Save the work in more than one place. If you develop last minute printer problems, create an attachment and it to me at: In addition, you should bring in a disk or CD containing the work in case your does not arrive, or there is a problem with opening it. Note: You can only use this option once.

Excused absences: work may be made up. Unexcused tardy’s and absences: work may NOT be made up. Excused Absences: Ask for makeup work when you return; arrange to make up quizzes or tests. Work due on the day of absence should be turned in on the day of return. Quizzes and tests should be made up within one week. Special arrangements will be made in the case of extended absences or unusual circumstances. Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences and tardies result in zeroes for all homework, class work, quizzes, tests, and projects that are due, completed in class, or assigned on that day. See Code of Conduct regarding short suspensions. SPECIAL NOTE: After the tenth absence, all absences thereafter are unexcused unless you turn in a doctor’s note to the office each time you are absent.

Soda, juice (water containers are accepted) food; Gum cell phones that are visible or that ring, beep, etc.; radios, CD players, iPods, etc... weapons of any kind; etc.

Failure to follow directions Harassing or picking on other students; treating anyone inappropriately (No Bullying Policy) Attempting to do absolutely nothing.

Each group is responsible for cleaning up the debris around their group. All materials must be put back in their appropriate place. All desks must be arranged exactly the way that they are supposed to be in. Everyone must be seated in his or her appropriate desk. Failure to do any of these things will result in delay of dismal for that group until the all the tasks have been completed.
