The Cell is like a… Because…

Manufacturing Plant

The Cell Membrane is like the password protected front doors to the building. BECAUSE: they let things move in and out of the building, but only if they are recognized by building.

The Nucleus is like the Plant Manager’s Office BECAUSE: it contains all the important information for the business.

The Nuclear Pores are like the Manager’s Secretary BECAUSE: The secretary allows the information to come in and out of the managers office

The Nucleolus is the manager himself BECAUSE he hires the people who will produce the product.

Create a Simile for Your Cell Be Creative!

Today’s Similes ▪ Create one for Cell Membrane ▪ Create one for Nucleus ▪ Create one more of your choice – Cytoplasm – Membrane Proteins – Glycoproteins – Nucleolus – Nuclear Envelop – Nuclear Pores – DNA
