Interactive Lesson Denise M. Ginn Grand Canyon University: TEC-542 February 28, 2015

 Students will go to the website

 Click on link to Power Point which is located right below to words Ms. Ginn's Homepage

 You will get into groups of 2-4 people, the group will choreograph and lead the class in a traditional Aerobics (High/Low) workout.  You are encouraged to be creative with both the content (moves/steps)  The routine will include creating a video which will include music, effectively calling out each step of the routine to the class.

 The final product should be a well thought-out, planned and executed workout that will provide classmates with a fun cardiovascular workout that both increases heart rate and improves overall fitness.  Your group must use school appropriate music for your routine.  You are to utilize resources on the internet to include some new moves that are fun and have not been presented in class before.  We will be going to the computer lab once a week for 30 minutes to choreograph the project.  Each group will be given a number

 Ms. Ginn will handout a packet that will have all the details spelled out for you  Now take a look at the packet  In the packet there is a paper called Aerobics Chorography Worksheet  You will notice that in the routine you must include 5 different combination with at least 5 “8” counts. Each step in considered a count (mathematical)  You must have a picture of each step so it shows what the step will look like (spatial)

 After watching this PowerPoint you are to go back to Ms. Ginn’s Homepage on Weebly for Education and click on the pink buttons labeled Turn Step, My Group Fit, and Step Center.  The buttons will take you to several websites that will show all different steps you can incorporate into your routine. Some steps are from several different countries.  You may also want to look at Pinterest for ideas (social)

 When you are done exploring the different websites then your group will go back to Ms. Ginn’s Homepage on Weebly for Education.  You will now click on the button labeled Google Docs. (interpersonal)  I have assigned each group a number and you are to click on your groups correct number.

 While still working on your own computer you are to work on the Aerobics Chorography Worksheet  Each person must contribute something to the worksheet.  Routine includes at least 5 combinations  Each combination includes at least 5 8-counts  Include smooth transitions between combinations  Steps must flow easily  Include some new moves that are fun and have not been presented in class  Moves should be symmetrical for each side of your body  Effectively keep heart rates elevated throughout routine  Should not utilize any equipment (weights, steps, bands, etc.)

 You will then create a video tape of your whole group performing the routine for your peers  Must perform routine outdoors (naturalist)  8-counts are effectively called out  Steps are called out prior to their execution in routine  Steps are broken in to small chunks  Moves are added one at a time  Smooth transitions between steps  Routine utilizes upbeat school appropriate music that can align to 8-counts (rhythmic)  Leaders utilize loud voices and are enthusiastic  Leaders model correctly (kinesthetic)  All group members help lead routine  Group will have to edit video using an online editor and also manipulate some of the video (manipulation)  If student is a absent the students could podcast their dance so others in the class can see it (podcasting)

 Your group will then go back to Ms. Ginn’s Homepage on Weebly for Education to write a paper using Google Docs  Paper should be at least one page double spaced that will include:  Explain the dance and why you chose that dance and music  Well written, no grammatical errors  Shows clarity of thought and presentation

 Five factors will be used to determine the overall grade for the project.  They include:  Completed “Aerobics Choreography Worksheet” describing routine and individual combinations  Teacher Rubric Scores  Peer Rubric Scores  Self-Evaluation  Group Evaluation
