Presentation transcript:

By Luke, Mark, Alan, and Aanand

Every county in the United States should have a cleaning group. People can volunteer to clean up the county the live in.

 Wildlife could get sick because they could eat the garbage.  Popped tires because of glass is on the ground and people run over the glass.  Car accidents happen because paper or other garbage could blow up on to someone’s windshield.

garbage could take years to decompose, even millions of years! Here are the decomposing time of some types of trash

 Styrofoam container =1 million years  Plastic jug =1 million years  Aluminum can= years  Disposable diaper =550 years  Tin can=90 years  Leather shoe=45 years  Wool sock=1 year  Paper bag=1 month  Banana peel=3-4 weeks

 Fast food waste: 33%  Paper: 29%  Aluminum: 28%  Glass: 6%  Plastic: 2%  Other: 2%

 There are fines that you need to pay for littering.  In a state park the fines could be lots of dollars, but in other places it could be less money.  Depending on how much litter, the fines may rise.  The rewards depend on how much trash each group picks up.

 We hope this power point encouraged you to help pass the county cleaning group bill.
