Lab Equipment
1-Spatula Spatula. metal implement used for spreading soft substances.
2-Forceps Forceps - instrument for holding firmly.
3-Pipette Pipette - narrow tube into which fluid is drawn by suction and retained by closing the upper end
4-Scalpel Scalpel -a small straight thin-bladed knife used in surgery
5-Test tube brush (wire brush) Test tube brush Tool with bristles for cleaning test tubes.
6- Thermometer Thermomete r- an instrument for determining temperature
7- Graduated pipette (micro pipette) 7- Graduated pipette- It is a pipette with a volume scale- used for exact volume PLEASE- add the lines to the micropipette picture
8-Glass stir rod Glass stirring rod- piece of tube glass used to mix liquids.
9-Buret Buret- it is used to deliver solutions in - precise measured volumes.
10-Funnel Funnel - a hollow cone with a tube extending from the smaller end and that is designed to catch and direct a downward flow.
11-Test tube Test tube : a plain or lipped tube usually of thin glass used in biology
12-Beaker Beaker - a deep wide mouthed thin- walled vessel that is used in science laboratories
13-Graduated cylinder Graduated cylinder : a tall, narrow, container with a volume scale used for measuring volume of liquids
14-Erlenmeyer flask Erlenmeyer flask- a flat-bottomed conical laboratory flask
15-Wash bottle Wash bottle- Bottle used for cleanse by the action of a liquid (as water)
16-Crucible tongs Crucible tongs are welded steel tools used to lift a hot crucible.
17-Evaporating dishes The evaporating dish is used to heat and evaporate liquids.
18-Crucible Crucible - a vessel of porcelain used for melting and calcinating a substance that requires a high degree of heat
19-Watch glass The watch glass is used to hold solids when being weighed or transported.
20-Clay triangle (Ceramic triangle) The clay triangle is used to hold crucibles when they are being heated.
21-Rubber stopper Stopper- one that causes to stop operating or functioning
23-Bunsen burner Bunsen burner- a gas burner consisting of a straight tube with small holes at the bottom where air enters and mixes with the gas to produce a hot blue flame
24-Ring stand Ring stand- used to support oneself on the feet in an erect position
25-Wire screen (wire gauze) Wire screen – A fabric of woven metallic wire.
26-Support ring (Iron Ring) Support ring it is supported by the ring stand and used to hold lab equipment.
-27 Test tube holder The test tube holder is used to hold test tubes when they are hot and untouchable.
