THE BIBLE The reason we come together is to please God. The Bible contains all the instructions we need to do that.

Five Reasons to Believe the Bible The Bible is God Given The Bible is Inerrant The Bible Needs No Revision The Bible is All Sufficient The Bible is The Standard of Judgment

The Bible is God Given II Tim. 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by ‘inspiration of God…’” II Pet. 1:20-21 “…holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” II Sam. 23:2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue.” II Pet.1:16 “…but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.”

The Bible is God Given Jno. 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things…” I Cor. 2:9-13 These are the words of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is Inerrant Geology is in the Bible Gen. 1:2 “And the earth was without form and void.” Gen. 6:1-7:24 “And the waters were upon the earth 150 days.” Astronomy is in the Bible Job 26:7 “He stretched out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth on nothing.” Isa. 40:22 “It is He who sits upon the circle of the earth.”

The Bible is Inerrant Archeology agrees with the Bible Ex. 1:11 “…and they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses.” Ex. 5:14-18 “…for no straw shall be given you,…” Fulfilled Prophecy confirms the Bible Deut. 18:22 “…if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken,…”

Fulfilled Prophecy Confirms the Bible The birth of Christ through a virgin is: Prophesied: Isa 7:13-15 Fulfilled: Lk. 1:26-35 Bethlehem as the birthplace of Christ is: Prophesied: Mic. 5:2 Fulfilled: Matt.2:1ff John the Baptist is: Prophesied: Mal. 3:1; Isa. 40:3 Fulfilled: Mk.1:1-7

The Bible Needs No Revision It is the complete and true work of God. Col. 1:6-8 Nothing is to be “added” nor “taken away” from it. Rev. 22:18-19 Deut. 4:2 Deut. 12:32

The Bible is All Sufficient II Tim. 3:16-17 “that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Pet. 1:2-3 “…has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness…” Eph. 3:3-5 The “mystery” has been revealed.

The Bible is All Sufficient It is the only book that provides answers to the two most important questions. 1. What must I do to be saved? Mk. 16:15-16 “He who believes and is baptized…” Acts 2:38 “ Repent and let every one of you be baptized…”

The Bible is All Sufficient 2. What must I do to live the Christian life? Titus 2: “…we are to live soberly, righteously, and godly…” II Pet. 1:5-7 “…giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge, self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, to brotherly kindness love.”

The Bible Is The Standard of Judgment In the last day we will be judged by it. Jno. 12:48 “He who rejects me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him – the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.”

The Bible is the Standard of Judgment We must speak and act as those who are to be judged by the perfect law of liberty. Jas. 2:12 “So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.” Jas. 1:25 “ But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
