Secondary Buxton Voices Feedback to forms PPT 9 th October 2015

Joint Buxton Voices – Friday 8 th October 2015 Agenda (Chairs – Andra/Lawrence) Apologies/Attendance - Sacha Travel Plan – Hands Up Survey - Miss Moloney Random Acts of Kindness Buxton Extra & The Buxton Factor Number of reps who present feedback to form groups New Building – Discussion of Plans/Break time activities – Miss Wheeler AOB – Sacha Next Meeting

Travel Plan Hands Up Survey Your rep or your form tutor should have This form. Please put your hand up to answer each question (only answer once per question). If you travel to school in a number of ways please choose the way you do the most. It is crucial that we get this information from everybody in the school so that we plan for the new school and the future. Your Buxton Voices rep will receive house points when this form is returned completed.

Random Acts of Kindness Winners - Students ….nominated for the Jack Petchey Award

Buxton Voices Feedback to form classes Currently only 12/30 Secondary Buxton Voices reps are able to feedback to their forms regularly. This means important information, news and consultations are not reaching the majority of students Issues affecting feedback? Ways of improving attendance? Ways of increasing feedback?

Spaces we can use other than All Weather and Hard Play (Sacha - Deputy Head Boy) The hard play area and all weather pitch will be out of bounds from October half term. We invited students to put forward ideas for alternative spaces or activities we could use/do at break and lunchtimes. This is what you said…..

Cookery Clubs YouTube Clubs Dodge ball tournaments Use library break and lunch Film Clubs Vlogging Clubs (ICT) Open Art rooms for craft clubs Drama Club Open all ICT rooms Game Show Clubs Fitness Clubs Board game Clubs Wanstead Flats for sport

Miss Wheeler asked Buxton Voices for their ideas on how we could manage and keep students safe in these additional clubs…. Our ideas/thoughts are: -Prefects support the clubs -Teachers could help us on different days -Volunteers from the VProject -Have an ID card/pass that can be used if we go to Wanstead Flats -If students lose their ID card due to poor choices we could have a reporting system that would enable them to win their ID card/Pass back -We could have different year groups going to the flats on different days. Like inter-form (house) -We could have spectators from the same year group -There is a number of staff to students legally – so we have to think of that (1/10) Please let your Buxton Voices rep know if you have any more ideas as the plans need to be in place for October Half Term.

Any Other Business. Sacha - Deputy Head Boy asked Buxton Voices if we should ask if we can add a grey hat to the school uniform (in addition to and the same as the black hat already available) 19/37 Buxton Voices voted in favour. Sacha will now take this idea to the Senior Leadership Team
