Shared Teachers ISEE Fields and Definitions

Shared Teacher Roles PROVIDED BY THE IDAHO STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION These are the options for the Shared Teacher’s roles in the Staff Assignment File Co-Teachers -- both teachers have identical staff assignments and their students have both teachers listed in their Student Course Enrollment file. Lead and Assisting -- Both teachers have a staff file, one with Lead role, the other with the Assisting role. The students…are assigned only to the Lead Teacher since the Lead teacher is the only one who has to be certified to teach the subject.

PROVIDED BY THE IDAHO STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Shared Teacher Roles Regular (R)Teacher of record that is solely in charge of a classroom and leading instruction. Proctor (P)The person proctoring the class for the teacher in the case of a virtual course. Special Education Consultant (S) The certified staff person, assisting a regular classroom team teacher, providing special education guidance to student(s). May share the same class period and assignment, but the students will be assigned to the regular teacher of record. Co-Teacher (C) Class is team taught and this teacher shares duties equally with another teacher. Each teacher has an assignment and student courses are generated for each teacher. Students are assigned to both courses Lead Team Teacher (1) Teacher works with another, but is in the master or mentor teacher role. Students are all assigned to this teacher's assignment. Assisting Teacher (2) Teacher assisting a lead team teacher. May share the same class period and assignment, but the students will be assigned to the lead teacher. Long Term Substitute (L) A person who has taken over an assignment for a teacher of record, who stays in the same classroom, teaching the same assignment for 10 consecutive days or more. Short Term Substitute (X) A person who has taken over an assignment for a teacher of record, who stays in the same classroom, teaching the same assignment for less than 10 consecutive days; An individual who temporarily replaces a contracted certificated classroom educator for less than 10 consecutive days during the school year

Course Instructors‘ Roles Mismatch If one Teacher's Role is Regular teacher, then none of the others can be Co-Teacher, Lead Teacher, nor Assisting Teacher. If one Teacher's Role is Co- Teacher, then another Teacher's Role must be Co-Teacher. If one Teacher's Role is Lead Teacher then another Teacher's Role must be Assisting Teacher.
