Copyright & Fair Use Copyright covers the creative or artistic expression of an idea. Fair use is a limitation to the exclusive right granted by the copyright law to the author of a creative work.
Copyright & Fair Use (the difference) Fair use can only be applied to copyrighted materials. It describes the conditions in which copyrighted materials can be used without permission. The general rule of thumb is to use the material without you making a profit on it or the originator losing any profit-that is the essence of fair use.
Plagiarism Plagiarism is when you cite information from another source not giving the author credit for it. This can be avoided by putting the information in your own words or simply citing the source used. 2 sites teachers can use to identify and help stop plagiarism
