The Power of Teamwork! Husky Spirit ‘15

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” - Nelson Mandela

“One of the most important things I’ve learned is that we can all positively impact the lives of people around us every day. You may not even know when you’ve made a difference, but believe me, it happens!” - Rick Hansen

“None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.” - Mother Theresa

The power to create change lies in the actions of many, not just the vision and determination of a single individual.

So…. How can I get involved to make a difference?

“100+ Huskies Who Care”

Who we are... With YOUR help, we HOPE to be 100+ students of Bible Hill Junior High who want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

We are students who... care deeply about our community; want to celebrate the non-profit organizations that serve our community and make it a better place in which to live want to learn more about these organizations and assist them in their work; want to model community commitment through meaningful giving.

And it’s easy!!! Here’s how...

Our entire school will gather 3 times per year: December, March, and May

We will listen to three 5-minute presentations from non-profit organizations who work within our own community

Our school will then present a donation to the charity that we feel needs it the most!

What we need to do to make it work... For YOU to form a team of students with staff and/or family members, and then choose a Team Leader *LIMIT of 4/team!

REGISTER your Team by: Friday, December 4th We will be passing out Registration Forms out after this assembly. Take one now, organize a team, and pass it into the office. If you can’t find a team, ask a staff member or other members of your family!

Each team must collect $20 three times/year!

I don’t have $20, what do I do???  Work together as a team, it could just be $5 if you have a team of 4!  Raise some money by doing extra chores or odd jobs for people in your family, your neighbourhood, or maybe even here at school!  Ask a staff member or your family for ideas  You have LOTS of time to figure something out!

Your Team Leader will be expected to pass in your $20 at least ONE WEEK prior to the meeting!

3 times this year we will meet... You will listen to presentations about three different local, non-profit organizations and what they do for our community

After all three 5-minute presentations, your team will get ONE vote to decide which organization you feel most deserves our school’s donation

The votes will quickly be collected and counted!

The organization with the most votes gets our full donation!

Make a choice Commit Make a difference! It’s EASY!

Any Questions?
