 Rock formed from melted rock that comes from deep within the earth.

 Rocks formed when sediments are pressed or cemented together.

 Rock formed when igneous or sedimentary rock is changed by heat.

This scale measures the hardness of minerals. A harder mineral will scratch a softer mineral.

 Talc 1 softer  Gypsum 2  Calcite 3  Fluorite 4  Apatite 5  Orthoclase 6  Quartz 7  Topaz 8  Corundum 9 harder  Diamond 10

Layering leads to Sedimentary rock

 Layering over time

ROCK cycle

SEDIMENTARY Rock Has been formed in layers Often found near water sources With fossils from decayers Then there's IGENOUS rock Here since Earth was born molten lava, cooled and hardened That’s how its formed These two types of rocks can also be transformed With pressure, heart and chemicals METAMORPHIC they’ll become
