Grade 12 Assembly What you need to know from Student Services

Timetable Changes Finished seeing all SEEGUIDANCE and requests Waitlists will continue to move until Friday Aiming for: post secondary program requirements and grad requirements

College Bound Students: New this year: A college representative will be at OP every other Thursday beginning Sept 24 – sign up in Student Services for researching college programs Note: Sheridan uses 4Us, nursing is 90% in many cases (other healthcare fields?), can bridge from college to university College fair trip will be offered at the end of October… stay tuned! OCAS (Ontario College Application Service) – application due February 1 for equal consideration; $95 for 5 choices

University Bound Students Six 4U/M credits required for any application eINFO (electronicinfo.ca) is the database for researching OUAC (Ontario University Application Centre) Applications are due January 14 (schools are sent first semester finals and second semester midterms) Cost is $150 for 3 applications and $50 for each choice after 3

Making the Cut Note on “cut off” marks for acceptance to college and university programs (supply and demand) Make sure you’re set up for success (55% in SCH3U will not lead to acceptance in an engineering program) Types of learning: data is proving that the classroom is the best place to learn; NO “BOOKLETS” are available; elearning an option in some cases

Upcoming events: Scholarship information session at lunch next Thursday (Sept 17) in the Learning Commons Trip to university fair in Toronto on Friday September 25 Future events: visits from all major universities and colleges – schedule will be posted outside Student Services and on our website university and college application workshops in the LC OSAP workshops in the spring What else do you need to support your transition from high school to …. ?
