Interdisciplinary Lesson Plan (Algebra 1 and Biology)

 Start with 2 rabbits – male and female rabbit.  Rabbits double every five days  After 5 days, there will be 4 rabbits  After 10 days, there will be 8 rabbits  After 15 days, there will be 16 rabbits  After 20 days, there will be 32 rabbits  … Microsoft ©

 Enter the days and number of rabbits in the table, by pressing the STAT button.

 To find the linear regression model after you have entered the numbers, press the STAT button and choose CALC option with the left right arrow. Then choose option #4, LinReg (ax+b) and then press Enter twice. Here is what should be on the screen:

 To find the Quadratic Regression equation, follow the same steps but choose option#5 QuadReg, then press Enter twice.

 After entering the following chart in excel: DaysRabbits

 From the menu select Insert then click Chart and choose X Y (Scatter). To get the equations, select one of the points and right click add trendline. Then select Linear and do the same for Exponential. Click on the box that says show equation on chart.
